The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary organisation which responds to mountain incidents for those in need on Snowdon and the surrounding mountains. The team is on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and relies on donations from members of the public to carry out this essential life-saving rescue service.

Thank fully I have never had to call them – but it is great to know that the resource is there should I or someone in my group or another person get into difficulty and we cannot resolve with out assistance.

No mountain Rescue team in the UK receive any grants or funding from the UK Government – they only exist by the generosity of those that donate – YOU?

I don’t live in Gwynedd North Wales but if I did I would be a volunteer for the Mountain Rescue Teams of North Wales – and if I could choose it would be Llanberis Mountain Rescue.

The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team manage the region around Yr Wyddfa – Snowdon. Their Excellent excellent website states they need £30,000 a year to do what they do. So for this fact and my affinity with Snowdon I felt I needed to do this tough walk for them.

I will be giving them a copy of my route – asking them if it is ok – as most who attempt the 15 mountains normally start on Snowdon as mentioned else where on this website I wish to Finish on Yr Wyddfa – Snowdon.

Assuming Paul raises a large amount for this Walk on Wales (WOW) for both Chance to SHine and Llanberis Mountain Rescue he has said he would like to return for a publicity photo opportunity for both local newspapers – North Wales and Surrey.
